If a fossil contains fish of varying sizes and species would this be evidence that they lived together?
If the fossil fish of various sizes and types, it would be convincing proof that they lived together as a group and had similar habits? Why or why not?
Yes. First, because the sediment laid down in layers, which represent the timeline at the bottom are the oldest and the newest on top. Second, when the animals die almost simotaneously appear on the same sheet rock and become fossils.
Do believe a fish fossil was found by a platoon of soldiers?
In my country a group of soldiers went hiking up the mountains and found a marine animal embedded in a stone, perhaps there for 1000ths of years.
Is it that I am living and walking on the sea floor, that was once covered by the ocean?
Yes, absolutely! It's probably been there for millions of years.
In some cases an ancient sea once covered the land and left fossils when it went away. (Seas once covered much or most of North America.)
